About this tour
Hire your own pontoon boat on the Tweed River for a self-guided day at your own speed, with up to eight people aboard. Steer the vessel yourself, fire up the onboard BBQ, cast a line without needing a fishing licence, and drift past pelicans, stingrays and dolphins. Bring your own food and drinks, hunt yabbies, and essentially have a floating picnic spot that goes where you want it to. Available for stints from two to seven hours.

What to expect
You'll collect the boat, take the helm yourself, and set your own itinerary—whether that's finding a quiet anchorage to fish or cruising to watch birds work the shoreline. The pontoon handles gently and is straightforward to operate. Pack a cooler with provisions, set up your picnic on the deck, and use the supplied rods whenever you fancy. Yabby traps are aboard if you want to try your hand at catching freshwater crayfish. Wildlife encounters happen naturally as you float; dolphins and stingrays are regulars here.
