What to expect

You'll depart Sydney at 8am and spend the first stretch travelling west to Sydney Zoo for up-close animal encounters. The route then climbs into the upper mountains, where you'll first take in the Three Sisters vista from Echo Point. The bulk of your day unfolds at Scenic World—a sprawling natural area where you're free to wander at your own pace along well-maintained tracks. Expect a mix of lookout platforms, rainforest walks and valley views. Around midday you'll break for lunch in Leura's garden precinct (bring your own or buy locally). The drive back takes you to the ferry terminal; the return to the city by water is your own arrangement and cost.

Good to know

Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water. National Park and parking fees are covered, but meals, drinks, snacks and Scenic World cable car rides cost extra. The ferry return ticket is separate.
