What to expect
Arrive at the beach and get fitted with safety gear and a wetsuit if needed. Your instructor will walk you through the board on dry land, then wade into shallow water where you'll practise balance and throttle control. Within 20–30 minutes, most first-timers are airborne. The board hovers roughly 60cm above the surface, powered by a submerged electric motor. It's quieter than a jet ski and remarkably stable once you find your rhythm. Expect wobbly moments, a few splashes, and genuine surprise at how quickly your body adapts. The scenery—open water, tree-lined shores—is bonus.
