What to expect

You'll be picked up from Cairns or Mission Beach and driven to the drop zone. After a safety briefing and gear fitting, you'll board the aircraft with your tandem instructor. The climb to altitude takes around 20 minutes. At jump time, you'll exit the plane and experience about 60 seconds of freefall before the chute deploys. The parachute descent lasts 5–7 minutes, giving you time to absorb the view. You'll land on Mission Beach's sand, collect yourself, and head straight to the nearby cafés. The whole outing takes roughly two hours.

Good to know

Wear comfortable clothes and enclosed shoes. Minimum age 16 (parental consent required under 18). Weight restrictions apply; surcharge for those 94kg and over, maximum 110kg. Not suitable if pregnant, with spinal injuries, or cardiovascular issues. Video and photos available for purchase on the day.
