Spend 90 minutes with Werribee Open Range Zoo's keepers and safari guide to encounter giraffes up close. You'll access the animals' night quarters, tour the Savannah enclosure, and learn from staff who work with them daily. This behind-the-scenes experience goes beyond standard zoo viewing—you're working alongside the people who know these creatures best. General zoo admission is separate.

What to expect

You'll meet your guide and keepers at the start, then head into areas of the zoo not open to casual visitors. The night quarters reveal how giraffes are cared for outside visiting hours. From there, you'll walk through the Savannah where you can observe the animals in their larger habitat while your guide shares insights into their behaviour and needs. It's a smaller group experience focused on genuine interaction with staff rather than rushed sightseeing.

Good to know

Wear covered shoes—open footwear isn't permitted. Children under 16 need a paying adult; those 8 and under require one-to-one supervision, while 9–15 year-olds can be supervised at a 1:2 ratio. Everyone aged 1+ needs a ticket. Zoo entry is not included.
