What to expect
After collecting you from Broome, the helicopter climbs north over King Sound and Walcott Inlet, landing at Mitchell Plateau where you'll be driven through sprawling palm woodland to Mertens campground. From here, another flight deposits you at the falls themselves for a few hours of exploration and swimming. The return leg is the showstopper: you'll trace the coastline past reef systems and tidal phenomena, approaching Broome from the west over the Dampier Peninsula's bays and beaches.
