What to expect
You'll be collected from your Gold Coast accommodation and driven into the hinterland as dusk falls. The walk into Natural Bridge Cave is moderate—expect uneven terrain and some elevation change. Once inside, your guide switches off torches so your eyes adjust; the cave ceiling comes alive with countless glow worms suspended above. Outside, you'll hear the rainforest's nocturnal chorus whilst scanning the star-filled sky. The return journey includes stops to spot possums, gliders and other creatures active after dark.
Good to know
Wear enclosed walking shoes and bring a jumper—nights in the hinterland are cooler. The cave environment is damp; waterproof bags protect cameras. Moderate fitness required; infants sit on an adult's lap. Food and drinks aren't included.
