About this tour
Walk straight into Ningaloo Marine Park from the beach for a guided snorkel across two separate reefs, exploring Turquoise Bay and either Lakeside or Oyster Stacks depending on conditions. Based in Cape Range National Park (UNESCO World Heritage site), this seven-hour outing includes morning tea and a beach lunch, with your guide identifying fish, coral systems, and explaining how the marine ecosystem functions. Land-based entry means no boats—just you, the reef, and the shallows.
Highlights
- Snorkel Turquoise Bay's shallow, fish-packed waters
- Second reef site chosen by tide and weather on the day
- Guide explains coral and ecosystem interconnections
- Picnic lunch and morning tea on the sand
- Snorkelling gear and sun shelter supplied
- Tour photos taken by your guide included
What to expect
You'll start with a pick-up from your accommodation, then head to Cape Range National Park. After gearing up, you'll wade into Turquoise Bay from the beach—no boat required. Your guide swims alongside, pointing out species and coral formations whilst you float and observe. After the first snorkel, you'll return to shore for morning tea and a rest. The second site (Lakeside or Oyster Stacks) follows lunch, same format. Expect calm, clear water in the shallows; the reef drops gradually. Swimming ability is essential; the experience suits various fitness levels but not those with heart concerns.
Good to know
Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a full water bottle (guide carries backup water). Pack your own towel. Book ahead as departure times vary. Poor cardiovascular fitness isn't suitable for this tour. Conditions determine which second site you visit.
